Between the snow melting and a little plowing assist from the town of Jackson, the roads were clear enough to open the Southern Entrance to Yellowstone National Park today. So with almost no summer visitors around yet, we pretty much had the park to ourselves. Perfect weather, iconic views and breathtaking wildlife encounters marked an amazing day. Grand Teton National Park opened the main road yesterday, but since it snowed about 6 inches we waited to celebrate until today.
Six inches of new snow overnight remind us that May does not mean what we thought it meant.
